Hi! I’m Robin Oxford-Davis, Founder and CEO of Basic Needs Miami.
Born and raised in Goulds, Florida, I’ve always believed in the power of community. Growing up in South Dade inspired a lifelong commitment to serving the people and neighborhoods of Miami-Dade County.
For more than 30 years, I’ve worked in nonprofit leadership and community development, building partnerships that expand opportunities and strengthen communities. As Executive Director of the Goulds Community Development Corporation, I led housing, economic development, and community initiatives that helped connect families with the resources they needed to thrive.
Throughout my career, I saw firsthand that many children and families struggle not because they lack potential, but because they lack access to basic necessities. That realization inspired me to create Basic Needs Miami.
While I earned my degrees from Florida International University and Miami Dade College, my greatest lessons have come from listening to our community and working alongside dedicated partners to create meaningful change.
I believe that when basic needs are met, people have the opportunity to thrive. Thank you for being part of our mission to build stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities throughout Miami-Dade County.
At Basic Needs Miami, we believe meeting basic needs is the foundation for stronger families and healthier communities.
We partner with schools, nonprofits, businesses, and community organizations throughout Miami-Dade County to provide food, essential supplies, and disaster preparedness resources that help the children, families, seniors, and vulnerable residents they serve.
We envision a Miami-Dade County where every family has access to life’s basic necessities through a strong network of trusted community partners.
Together, we’re building stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities—one partnership at a time.
